Lance Signs
North County San Diego

Custom signs, designed and built by hand.

Lobby signs, LED neon, outdoor panels and digital signage for small businesses. I model every sign in 3D before it's built, then make it in my own shop.

Serving Oceanside, Carlsbad, Vista, San Marcos, Escondido, Encinitas and the rest of North County.

  • One person, idea to finished sign
  • A 3D model before anything is cut
  • Built in my North County shop
  • Handed over ready to mount
  • Every sign quoted up front
What I make

Four kinds of sign, each made for one business.

No catalog and no templates. Tell me what you have in mind and I'll design it around your brand and your wall.

Try a live example

I build, you install. Every sign comes finished and ready to mount, with the hardware it's designed for and notes on how it goes up. Mounting it is done by you or your contractor, and any city or landlord approval is yours to get; I can supply drawings with the sizes and materials for it.

Digital signage

A sign that keeps up with your building.

A new tenant, a moved suite or a new menu shouldn't mean a new sign. A screen designed around your space changes in minutes.

  • Designed for your building: your floors, your colors, your logo
  • A small player set up to run on its own, on a schedule if you like
  • Changes made for you when something moves

Example screens with made-up names. The real one at Jefferson Village Square is in my work.

How it works

From your idea to a sign on the wall.

Five steps, and you see the sign before anything is cut.

1

Tell me the idea

Your logo, a sketch or a description, a photo of the wall and a rough size.

2

Get a quote

A price and a time frame for the sign you described. Asking costs nothing.

3

See it in 3D

A model with sizes, materials and colors. We change it until it's right.

4

I build it

CNC cutting, welding, LED work and finishing, in my own shop.

5

Ready to mount

A finished sign with its hardware and notes for whoever puts it up.

Questions

What people ask before they order.

Not here? Ask in the quote form or email lance@lancesigns.com.

Do you install the sign?
No. I design and build it and hand it over ready to mount, with the hardware it's designed for and notes on how it goes up. You or your contractor mount it.
How long does a sign take?
It depends on the size, the materials and whether it's lit. Every quote comes with a time frame, and if you have a date, tell me in the form.
Do I need a permit?
Signs inside a suite usually don't. Outdoor signs usually need approval from the city, the landlord or the association, and getting it is up to you. I can supply drawings with the sizes, materials and how it mounts for the application.
What does a lit sign need?
LED signs run from a low-voltage power supply. Most plug into a normal outlet near the sign; some are better hardwired by an electrician. I'll tell you what yours needs when I quote it.
LED neon or glass neon?
I build in LED neon: it's lighter, tougher, runs cool and uses far less power than glass, and it can be cut to almost any lettering or logo.
What files should I send?
A vector logo (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF) is best. A PNG, a JPG or even a photo of your current sign works too: I can redraw it. Add a photo of the wall with a tape measure in it if you can.
How big should it be?
That depends on how far away people read it and what's around it. Send a photo of the spot and I'll suggest a size you can see in the 3D model before deciding.
How does pricing work?
Every sign is quoted, because every sign is different. The more you tell me (size, where it goes, lit or not, your logo file), the quicker and closer the quote.
What does digital signage include?
The screen's design and a small player set up to run it, and changes when something moves. The screen itself and mounting it on the wall are yours to arrange; I'll tell you what screen fits.
Where do you work?
North County San Diego: Oceanside, Carlsbad, Vista, San Marcos, Escondido, Encinitas and the towns around them. Pickup or delivery is set with the quote.
